"His playing is expressive and technically extremely versatile. Everything that saxophonists normally have trouble with, is easy for him. Through saxophonists like him, the saxophone is a full-fledged concert instrument in classical and also in contemporary music."

By words of Daniel Gauthier, "Borja is extremely stylistically confident and eloquent in technically and musically demanding works. The special feature of his playing is that the music speaks directly through him. He knows how to use his knowledge and technical skills for the right expression, so that you are always carried away". He participated in the “Contemporary Music Cycle of Badajoz” between the years 2013-2016, and also at the premiere in Spain of "La bocca, i piedi, il suono" for 104 saxophonists in the National Auditorium of Spain, that was organised by the famous Sigma Project Saxophone Quartet.

In the summer of 2014 he is selected and he obtained a grant to join the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) to participate in a Summer Tour that takes him to perform a series of concerts in some of the most important international halls, like at the Royal Albert Hall in London (PROMS Festival), the "Robeco Summer Nights" Festival of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Bolzano Festival (Italy) and Grafenegg Festival (Austria). This concert were recorded by BBC Radio 3, Concertgebouw Live and RNE. In the EUYO works with important musicians and conductors such as Vasily Petrenko, Peter Stark, Simon Trpceski, Rien de Reede, London Voices or Vilde Frang among others.

As other prizes, he has been recently awarded with the 2nd prize in the “Torneo Internazionale di Musica” celebrated in Torino in 2016, the 1st Prize in the “Hochschulinterner Wettbewerb 2019 and also with the “Extraordinary Prize” End of Bachelor Degree of the Conservatory of Badajoz (2016).

Borja is also member of the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra and the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, with which he has played in Kölner Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Musikwerein Viena and Alte Oper from Frankfurt, under the batons of Christoph Eichenbach and Ingo Metzmacher.

Besides, he is been chosen to play as a soloist with the orchestra of his Conservatory, performing “Lars-Erik Larsson Saxophone Concerto” under the baton of the international violinist Sergey Teslya. His concertistic activity made him play in several countries of Europe, such as Germany, Belgium, France, Spain or Italy, among others.

He continues his studies of Master in Music – Saxophon Solo and Konzertexam Master in the „Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Köln“, with the Professor Daniel Gauthier, and of Master in Contemporary Music in the „Folkwang Universität der Künste“ in Essen.
